Feel like you can never learn that language? Well, this bright young man has just put us all to shame with his command of 12 languages from self-study.
At the age of 17, Ha Duy Loc, now speaks English, French, Chinese and Russian proficiently and can also communicate fluently in Arabic, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, and Polish. Now he’s working on Thai and Indonesian languages.
All that, and he achieved it with financial difficulties. Now that’s commitment that makes me embarrassed.
I’m not jealous ,because becoming a language teacher after all that work is really a waste of his talent.
I thought he would be smarter and choose a better road..
How can we be sure he really is fluent at 13 languages as he claimed?Have you guys tested him before coming to that conclusion? There are a lot of hoaxes out there. You can learn how to say how are you in 20 languages.
Well unfortunately the best I can do is hope the reporter and newspaper did their job. Not that I trust the media but it’s the best I can do at the moment until someone starts paying for me to fly around the world investigating this stuff. But I agree, one of my most used sites is snopes.com.
Dear Craig
It is obvious reporters in some countries don’t practise evidence-based journalism. They report news like people who can levitate or cars that run on water. In the case of Ha duy Loc,the reporter did not mention any language tests he passed.Extraordinary claim requires extraordinary proof. He should be put on a live TV show and talk to native speakers of the languages he claims he knows.I hope he won’t become the laughing stock for the whole world.Vietnamese journalism is clearly still in its infancy.
